My research directs toward ocean circulation, dynamics, air-sea interaction, decadal climate variability, and regional sea level rise in a changing climaate. My main research projects involve understanding tropical ocean variability at intraseasonal to decadal time scales, the role of ocean in regulating regional and global climate at various timescales, heatwaves, sea level extreme events, and compounding extreme events (e.g., marine heatwaves coupled with sea level extremes).
