CH4 on Mars? Sources? Sinks?

Has methane been detected in the Martian atmosphere? Some sources say “Yes, we’ve detected it!” (ground-based Krasnopolsky, 2004 and the Mars Express Planetary Fourier Spectrometer – Formisano, 2004).
