Cars

There's something about the thrill of acceleration and speed that is exhilarating.  Perhaps it's because the danger forces us to live in the moment, the "now".  Regardless, I've been interested in sporty cars for quite a few years now.  On my 26th birthday (September 13, 2001) I decided to treat myself to a sporty, yet sensible car.  I purchased the 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX.

I chose the WRX because it is a stick shift, 227 horsepower, All Wheel Drive, reliable, decent fuel economy, and only $26,000.  I say "only" $26,000 because it was faster to 30 mph than any car under $70,000 in the U.S. in 2002.  That's all changed now, however, and there's quite a few cool cars you can buy for relatively affordable prices!  I've included some below.  Anyways, I've had the WRX for 5 years now and haven't been disappointed.  So far, I haven't had a single non-maintenance repair that I've had to pay for.  And the thrills never wear out.  And since it has AWD, it is capable of taking me up snowy mountain roads; very useful now that I live in Boulder.
