Ultimate

The sight of a spinning, floating disc defying gravity just makes me want to run and catch it before it hits the ground!   Yes, you may compare me to a dog.   Seriously, I never get tired of throwing the disc around.   Playing ultimate takes it one step further and adds a dimension of teamwork, excitement, and action to the fun.

Here's a photo of our CU intramural team immediately after we won the championship in Fall 2007!  We played B league this season but were bumped up to A league for the tournament.  Our team really improved and also had a lot of fun this season, as shown in this photo.   In this photo is me, Dave Porter, Wayne Leonard, Sam Dorsi, Kelly Baustian, Kai Hudek, Mike Elsbury, Vergil Mueller, Dave Alspector, DJ Hubler, Portia Wolf, Shan Wo, and Ron Popri.

Here's a pic at a tournament in Wisconsin....can't remember if it was Cooler Classic or Badger State Games.   Anyways, many of my Wisconsin disc friends were there -  Megan, Greg and Nancy, Andy and Val, Andy Witt, Ken, Brooke, Adam, and Dan.  A fun time was had by all.

Check out the official UPA website for more info on this exciting sport.

And did you ever wonder about the physics of a flying disc?

Also, there's a cool tournament in Acapulco each January.  I went in 2007 and it was a lot of fun, beautiful weather, and a perfect therapy after my Comps I exam.

That's it.
