HadISST 1.1 Data Set
This section of the SWING website contains the sea surface temperature and sea ice coverage data of the HadISST 1.1 data set of the United Kingdom Met Office. These files are used as a common boundary condition in the experimental setup of the different isotope general circulation model simulations.
PLEASE NOTE: The Met Office HadISST 1.1. data set is available for bona fide academic research within the SWING project only. If you wish to access this data for any other purpose, please contact the Met Office directly.

Downloadable Data Files:
(1) HadISST_1_1_SST_1980.1999.mean:
Mean sea surface temperatures of the period 1980-1999 (gzipped 1 Mb)
(2) HadISST_1_1_ICE_1980.1999.mean:
Mean sea ice coverage of the period 1980-1999 (gzipped 150kb)

surface temperature (gzipped text files ~98Mb):
Monthly sea surface temperatures data for each year of the period 1870-2003.
(4) Sea
ice distribution (gzipped text files 13Mb):
Monthly sea ice distribution data for each year of the period 1870-2003.
