ROTATING TABLE FOR CLASSROOM DEMONSTRATIONS:   CART-TRANSPORTABLE ROTATING TABLE WITH CO-ROTATING VIDEO FEED AND ACCESSORY SLIP RINGS FOR CLASSROOM USE.

The above sketch shows that facility.  The 48Volt AC output is used for the rotating annulus experiment.  The 24V DC output (+ and - Labeled TE Cooler) is used to excite thymol blue dye in the the spin up and western intensification experiments.

Color Hi-8 camera feeds a video (NTSC) signal out through the slip rings to a monitor or classroom projector.  Provides co-rotating view (attached to the rotating reference frame).  Lighting should be adjusted as needed for each experiment.

SLIP RING PANEL ON THE ROTATING TABLE.  115 Volt AC input is provided by the red terminals as shown.  The Coaxial connector (upper left) should be cabled to the monitor or classroom projector video feed.  Pins 7 and 8 are the banana jack input for auxiliary power to experiments.  This should be connected to the appropriate output of the grey power box (DC for thymol blue, ac for the annulus heater....).

SPEED CONTROL.   The Bodine motor speed controller allows for changes in direction and various speed setting.  The proper setting for inertial oscillations on the gray PVC parabolic dish is denoted by I.O. on the dial.  It is probably best not to exceed this setting.
